Course Information

We offer courses that meet your continuing education requirements that can be completed in the comfort of your home or office when it is convenient for you. Our courses are comprehensive and are continually updated to reflect changes in your governing Board's Laws and Rules or in the customary practice of your Area of Practice.

Each course provides 2 Professional Development Hours. The layout of each course is a convenient 10 question multiple choice format that allows for instant scoring upon completion.  If you are interrupted you have the ability to pause, and resume later at a more convenient time.

 

On any course that you successfully complete the corresponding governing body for your license will be notified of your successful completion to ensure you are credited with the number of PDHs earned. In order to successfully complete a course you must score 80%. In the event that you do not successfully complete a course you will be shown the questions missed with the correct answers and given the opportunity to retake the course at no additional charge within 48 hours of your initial attempt.

Laws and Rules:


Part One: 2013-2015 Laws and Rules Chapter 471 Florida - covers Laws and Rules Chapter 471 Florida Statutes. (2 PDH)

Part Two: 2013-2015 Rules Chapter 61G15 Florida Administrative Code - covers the Rules Chapter 61G15 Florida Administrative Code. (2 PDH)

 

Area of Practice:

 

CIVIL

AM001: Calculation of Runoff for Storm Drain Projects - provides a better understanding of the Rational Method and familiarity with the different tables and charts that FDOT provides in order to compute water surface runoff for storm drain projects. (2 PDH)

AM002: Spread & Capacity Calculation for Inlets at On Grade Conditions - provide a better understanding of the capacity calculation of inlets at on-grade conditions, spread computations and become familiarized with the different tables, charts and general guidelines that FDOT provides in order to properly drain stormwater runoff out of the roadway. (2 PDH)

AM003: Spread & Capacity Calculation for Inlets at Sag Conditions - provide the engineer a better understanding of the capacity calculation of inlets at sag conditions, spread computations and become familiarized with the different tables, charts and general guidelines that FDOT provides in order to properly drain stormwater runoff out of the roadway. (2 PDH)

 

STRUCTURAL

AM004: Transverse Pushover Analysis - provide a general overview of the Pushover Analysis method that Caltrans uses in order to calculate the displacement capacity of their bridge structures. (2 PDH)

 

ENVIRONMENTAL

DM001: Fundamentals of Wastewater Engineering - provide the engineer a better understanding of the Fundamentals of Wastewater Engineering. The course gives you an overview of different stages of a wastewater treatment process. (2 PDH)

DM002: Water Treatment - Provide the engineer a better understanding of the need for water treatment. The course gives you an overview of different stages of a water treatment facility. (2 PDH)

 

ELECTRICAL

RF001: DC Circuit Analysis - refresher course that presents the following Theorems and analysis techniques: Ohm's Law, Series Analysis, Parallel Analysis, Kirchhoff's Laws, Thevenin's Theorem, Norton's Theorem, Equivalent Circuits, Joule's Law, Jacobi's law, and the Maximum Power Transfer Theorem. (2 PDH)

RF002: AC Circuit Analysis - is a refresher course that presents the following concepts: Mathematics of AC, Voltages, Root Mean Square (RMS) Value, Phasor, AC Steady State, Electrical Impedance, Reactance, Circuit Laws, Series Circuits, Parallel Circuits, AC Power, Power Factor. (2 PDH)

RF003: Digital Systems: Combinational Logic - is a refresher course that presents a theoretical background to understand the following subjects: Truth Table, Boolean Algebra, De Morgan's Laws, Digital Logic Gates, Multiplexer and Demultiplexer (Decoder), Logic Networks, Three-state Logic, Hazard (logic), Karnaugh Map. (2 PDH)

RF004: Digital Systems: Sequential Logic - is a refresher course that presents a theoretical background to understand the following subjects: Synchronous Sequential Logic, Flip-flops, Counters, Finite State Machine (FSM), Moore Machine, Mealy Machine, Gray Code, Richards Controller. (2 PDH)

RF005: Solar Cell Fundamentals - provides an introduction to the fundamentals of Solar Cells in understanding the following subjects: Photovoltaic Effect, Three Generations of Solar Cells, Solar Modules, Solar Cell Theory, Equivalent Circuit of a Solar Cell, Solar Cell Efficiency Factors, Light-Absorbing Materials. (2 PDH)

RF006: Solar Cell Systems - provides an introduction to Solar Cell Systems through understanding the following subjects: Photovoltaic Systems, Photovoltaic Module, Solar Modules, Rechargeable Electricity Storage System, Inverters, Charge Controllers, Solar Cell Applications, System Performance, Environmental Impacts.
